The Certificate in Finance, Accounting and Business (CFAB) from ICAEW is a certificate qualification that provides essential business and finance knowledge in six key areas: Business and Finance, Law, Management Information, Accounting, Assurance and Principles of Taxation. Having this breadth of knowledge offers business benefits to employers and students.

  • Entry requirements: CFAB is open to all – from school leavers to graduates and employees who want to increase their knowledge and skills. There are no formal academic entry requirements for studying CFAB
  • Learning: CFAB teaches practical skills and fundamental knowledge in finance, accounting and business – highly valuable for any role in any organisation around the world.
  • Flexible study options: Various study routes available for maximum convenience – from self-study, distance learning, classroom tuition, online and more. You can also mix and match study options on a module-by-module basis.
  • Duration: CFAB can be completed within 12 months or you can choose to take longer – the choice is yours.
  • Timing: Start studying CFAB at any time of year – to fit around existing work and time commitments.
  • Computer-based assessments: The six computer-based assessment exams can be taken in any order and at any time of the year for maximum convenience.
  • Exam credit/exam exemptions: Exam credit is available for five CFAB study modules. With credit, CFAB can be achieved in just a few months.
  • Success: First-time passes are around 90% for each module.

  • Route to chartered accountancy:  CFAB is the same six modules as the first stage of the ACA qualification – the leading business and finance qualification from ICAEW. Individuals can study CFAB as part of their journey towards the ACA and chartered accountancy.
